New Delhi, February 26
Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal today spared passengers a fare hike, but raised various charges on tickets as well as freight tariff to net in additional Rs 4,683 crore a year.

HP: More surveys, no concrete proposals
Shimla, February 26
While Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal has announced survey of three new rail tracks in the state, the rail budget has not enthused the people as there is no concrete proposal for starting work on any new project.

Uttarakhand: More trains, new tracks
The Rail Minister has announced a direct express weekly train between Bandara to Haridwar. He has also proposed the Tanakpur-Bageshwar railway line in the Kumaon region.
