Shiv Sena-BJP set to retain Mumbai civic body Mumbai, February 17 Despite conceding several prestigious seats to the upstart Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, like those in Dadar where both outfits are headquartered, the Shiv Sena bagged 75 seats in other parts of Mumbai. Its ally, the BJP, won in 30 seats leaving a lone seat to the Republican Party of India (Athavale). The Congress and the NCP have 52 and 14 seats in their kitty, respectively, while the MNS bagged 28 seats in the country's richest civic body. The Congress and the NCP, which contested the elections together, ended up with far fewer seats this time round as compared to 2007 when they contested separately. Then, both the parties had bagged 75 and 14 seats, respectively. The Shiv Sena and the BJP had bagged 84 and 28 seats respectively while the MNS had to contend with just seven seats.
