Bathinda, December 27
To help youths to stand on their feet by the way of starting their own ventures, the North India Technical Consultancy Organisation (NITCON) here has organised a six-week programme in computer hardware and networking for a batch of 25.

It is a technology-based entrepreneurship development programme that has been begun on behalf of the Union Ministry of Science and Technology, New Delhi, and the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad.

After the completion of the programme in the first week of January, the candidates can start assembling computers, sale/purchase of computers, jobs at coaching centres or take up an annual maintenance contract of computers in a bank or any other organisation.

In the networking field, they can get work in a bank, insurance company, thermal plant or the NFL. Besides, they can also provide coaching on computer networking.

Chief manager of the NITCON, Bathinda, Vijay Arora said they had been providing practical training to the candidates for five weeks besides one week training in managerial skills, at the Vishvas Institute of Information and Technology here. He said in the managerial part of the training, the candidates would be told about managerial inputs in marketing, market research, project report preparation, personality development and sharing of experiences with entrepreneurs.

Arora said no fee was charged from the candidates as the programme was fully subsidised by Ministry of Science and Technology.

Surbhi, a candidate attending the six-week programme, said she had already possessed a three-year diploma in architecture but she was not deeply connected with the computer before this, so she had learnt a lot in four weeks at the ongoing programme.
