New Delhi: The nation paid homage to the martyrs of the terrorist attack on Indian Parliament, 10 years ago on this day, that shook the citadel of democracy. The main memorial function was held at the Parliament where MPS from all parties joined Vice President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to pay tributes to the bravehearts who laid down their lives defending their motherland. 

The solemn ceremony was also attended by several union ministers, Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, LK Advani among others. The Parliament’s Winter Session is currently underway.

New Delhi: Essar group promoters Anshuman and Ravi Ruia were among the five corporate honchos who were today made accused by CBI in its third charge sheet filed in a Delhi court in the 2G scam. The other three named are Loop Telecom promoters Kiran Khaitan, her husband I P Khaitan and Essar Group director (Strategy and Planning) Vikas Saraf. The rupee sank to a record low of 53.21 per dollar on Tuesday on worries Europe's debt crisis could exacerbate the growth slowdown in Asia's third-largest economy. At 9:05 a.m. (0335 GMT), the partially convertible rupee was at 53.15/18, after falling 1.53 percent on Monday to 52.84/85.  During trade on Monday it had hit 52.87 after the industrial output index for October plunged 5.1 percent from the same month a year earlier, far worse than expected. The BSE Sensex also fell 0.3% early on Tuesday as investors turned cautious after a slump in industrial output raised concerns about corporate earnings and foreign fund outflows.
