SC grants bail to 5 corporate honchos
Relief for Raja, Kanimozhi, other accused soon
New Delhi, November 23
The Supreme Court today granted bail to five top executives involved in the 2G scam, raising the possibility of similar relief for former Telecom Minister A Raja, DMK MP Kanimozhi and 10 other accused cooling their heels in Tihar Jail here for more than six months. Unitech Limited MD Sanjay Chandra, Swan Telecom Director Vinod Goenka and Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) executives Hari Nair, Gautam Doshi and Surendra Pipara walked out of prison later in the evening.

Cyrus Mistry named Ratan Tata’s successor
To take over in December 2012

Cyrus P MistryTata Sons today announced the successor to Ratan Tata and named Shapoorji Pallonji Group Managing Director Cyrus P Mistry (43) as the head of over USD 80 billion conglomerate Tata Group. The 43-year-old Mistry,the son of Pallonji Mistry, Chairman of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group that holds 18 per cent stake in Tata Sons, will take over the reins when Tata retires in December, 2012.

In a first-of-its-kind revelation that would give the Congress-led UPA government some foothold in the 2G Spectrum allocation scam, the Telecom Ministry has said the national exchequer lost over Rs 43,523 crore because of relief given to telecom companies by the BJP-led NDA government in 1999.

Unseasonal fog continues to play havoc with train schedules
New Delhi, November 23
The unseasonal dense fog over northern part of the country continued to play havoc with the train schedules with a number of trains between Delhi and various cities in Haryana and Punjab, besides other states, being cancelled for an indefinite period.

Khalsa heritage memorial promises a visual delight
Anandpur Sahib, November 23
As it awaits to be inaugurated on Friday, the Khalsa Heritage Memorial Complex today provided a spectacular and breathtaking preview. The Boston-based designer of the complex, architect and urban planner Moshe Safdie, who is known for creating the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Jerusalem, has already arrived for the inauguration and so has Bobby Bedi, the filmmaker who has contributed audiovisuals.
