For the first time in the history of panchayati raj in India, the government is planning to bring statutory provisions to mandate videography of gram sabha meetings and scheduling of these meetings at predetermined dates, to be communicated to villagers in advance.

Fire at eunuchs’ Delhi meet kills 14
New Delhi, November 20
A fierce fire broke out in the evening today at the E-block community centre of Nand Nagri in Delhi killing 14 eunuchs and critically injuring 50 others. Over 3,000 eunuchs had gathered for an annual function when the fire started at 6.50 pm.

Inmates clash with Kapurthala jail staff; one dead
Kapurthala, November 20 The Kapurthala jail today virtually turned into a battleground with over 1,600 inmates clashing with the security staff for more than 11 hours.
