Robin Gupta, a familiar name in the Chandigarh’s literary circle, is back again with his memoirs that highlights the good, bad and ugly side of the Indian Administrative Service
Meeting Robin Gupta is a ‘distinctly different’ experience. Okay, one can accuse us of plagiarising the expression from the title of his forthcoming book Distinctly Different, The Memoirs of an Unrepentant Civil Servant (working title), which will see the daylight soon, but let us assure you, the feeling is original. After all, how many times in life is a journo greeted with a beautiful welcome quote, at the doorstep, before the gentleman presents himself in his tastefully done living-room? Only, if the gentleman in question is Gupta! Yes, he is distinctly different. Privileged to be from a long line of civil servants (three generations to be precise), he chose to be the ‘nun’ in the administrative service.

Whether it is the ‘god-knows-how-good-it-is’ factor attached with these dishes or the different tastes, sea food definitely has left a lingering taste on the palate of many foodies in the Chandigarh region. Moving beyond the regular fish and fish curries or fried prawns, sea food today means a whole lot of interesting and fancy dishes.

If your birthday is November 6...
A tip for you on your birthday-remember that interpersonal walls are created by mutual consent, so open your heart to invite in those with whom you want to share your life. The number six is a loving, stable, and has a harmonious vibration. Ruled by Venus, you will be compassionate, stable, family-loving, trustworthy and domesticated. If expressed negatively you will be superficial, jealous, possessive and unwilling to change. As lovers, those born under the number six have a dislike of discord and will generally work hard at keeping the peace.

This has also made their existence prone to onslaught from the human being prompting them to create camouflage devices to escape. One such insect is the Leaf minor.

Bare necessities
Bollywood's leading and stylish beauties tell us about one wardrobe must-have this season
\
Shoe shiner: Kareena Kapoor Bright and beautiful: Shraddha Kapoor Fresh air: Shazahn Padamsee Dressed to impress : Kangna Ranaut
Some for the feet
Kareena Kapoor: I have a shoe fetish and my mother has given up on me. If I like a pair, I have to pick up a few pieces of the same in every colour. I would suggest bright heels (colours like yellow, blue, red, purple, silver) and pumps.
Eyes on you
Shraddha Kapoor: I love bright eye-liners that jazz up my look. Stock them in purple, blue, green, orange, golden, pink, and other colours that appeal to you and suit your skin tone. You need confidence to pull it off!
Spray on
Shazahn Padamsee: We have to smell good and lovely. I cannot step out without perfume. My favourite is Bright Crystal from Versace. I think we all need at least one bottle of fabulous perfume.
Black beauty
Kangna Ranaut: I love little black dresses and have quite a few. I would recommend a lacy black dress, a
casual black dress, a party black dress, and a daringly sexy black dress.
