Bangalore, November 4
Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa’s hope of walking out from the prison were dashed today with the high court here adjourning to November 8 further hearing on his second bail application in a graft case.

Justice BV Pinto, who yesterday granted conditional bail to Yeddyurappa in another corruption case, said he needed time to study the case and wanted some more clarification.

The Lokayukta Court sent Yeddyurappa to seven-day judicial remand on October 15. The former CM, who checked into a hospital the same night, has been in jail since October 19.

“I am still studying the case. The study is in progress and has not yet been completed. I need further clarifications,” Justice Pinto said.

The judge had yesterday allowed a bail plea by Yeddyurappa in one of the two complaints and reserved the order for today on the other.

Yeddyurappa, who has been accused of illegally de-notifying land, is facing trouble for his alleged involvement in the scam that saw his family members getting prime land at throwaway prices during his tenure as Chief Minister.
