MiG crashes due to pilots’ inexperience:

The Indian Air Force (IAF) today said most of the recent MiG-21 crashes have been caused due to inexperience of young pilots in handling the aircraft.

The last session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, before the state goes to the polls early next year, was washed out with both the ruling SAD-BJP combine and the Congress jousting over rules of procedure and making shortshrift of various Bills tabled in the House, all of which were passed without a discussion.

PGI Director’s appointment challenged; CAT admits plea
New Delhi, October 8
The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has admitted an application challenging the appointment of Dr YK Chawla as the Director of PGI- Chandigarh and said that his appointment would be subject to the final outcome of the petition. Dr Digambar Behera, one of the five candidates shortlisted for the PGI Director’s post, moved the CAT yesterday seeking to quash Dr Chawla’s selection by the Health Ministry’s Special Selection Committee.
