Pak: We’re not responsible for Punjab floods
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, August 26
Pakistan today denied as ‘totally baseless’ the charge that it was responsible for the flood situation prevailing in Kapurthala, Fazilka and Tarn Taran districts of Punjab. “According to the data of river flows, the operation of Sulemanki Barrage is normal and without hindrance.

Pakistan has scrupulously followed the agreement on water sharing, including strict adherence to the Indus Water Treaty,” M Khalid Sarwar, Minister (Press) at the Pakistan High Commission here, said.

He was reacting to a news report that Pakistan had blocked the flow of water into its territory from the Indian side in Fazilka, triggering floods .
