The UPA government, battling a series of scandals and growing criticism on its inability to handle economic issues, has unveiled a National Manufacturing Policy (NMP). The policy seeks to create 100 million industrial jobs by 2025.

Their alleged “role” in the murder would be investigated by the state Crime Branch.

Paddy MSP up by Rs 80, cotton Rs 300
New Delhi, June 9
The government today hiked the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy by Rs 80 for the 2011-12 Kharif season to boost rice production and procurement and MSP of cotton by Rs 300 each for both medium and long staple length fibre to Rs 2,800/quintal and Rs 3,300/quintal, respectively.

Six persons, including two shopkeepers, a driver of an earth mover, six roadside eateries and four vehicles were washed away in flashfloods triggered by a cloudburst at Baggar in Doda district, around 157 km from here.

India-Pak dialogue
Foreign Secys to review progress
New Delhi, June 9
The foreign secretaries of India and Pakistan will meet here by the end of the month to review the progress in the dialogue process that was resumed in March after a hiatus of more than two years in the wake of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. This was conveyed by Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao to a group of visiting Urdu journalists from Pakistan which called on her.
