CELEB(rating) environment
Now it's Baba Ramdev's turn to instill courage and motivate people to fight against corruption and black money. Thankfully, our country has always been faced with such pressing issues from time to time. Amidst the more and lesser important topics, environment is one sphere that concerns all and sundry, before it falls prey to 'as long as it doesn't affect me phenomenon.' On the World Environment Day 2011, we ask Bollywood celebrities what comes to their mind when we say the word environment? And would they do something for its sake?

Live organic
Green is more than just a buzzword these days. And with every youngster promoting 'the green' there's no doubt that organic and environment-friendly products are doing well for themselves as well as the consumer. And if you are also one of those who thinks of the planet, then organic is bound to be on your mind. Though most people associate organic with paper work it is more than that. Omnipresent, organic makes it presence felt right from our wardrobe to our kitchen shelves. We take a sneak peek.

Romancing the unknown
Turkey is a good bet If you're headed to Goa or Thailand (yawn!) no one would ask you details of the holidays on your return. The reasons are more than one as to why it pays to head off the beaten track. Like it's said, there are some that like to discover new places. Then there are others who like to discover themselves at a new place. If you want to go where most people wouldn't think of, here's an update on some of the less explored options.

Idyllic retreat
I knew I had left the city of bricks, mortar and well-designed lanes far behind when I visited Wildflower Hall, Shimla, An Oberoi Resort.. Fresh, cool, little warm, tangy, sweet air pressed against the cabs window. It rushed in as we rolled down the glass. Situated at 8,250 feet tucked in the Himalayas, is this place Wildflower Hall amidst cedar and pine trees. Drugged on fresh air, whispering tall trees, soulful silence.

Veggie delights for tourists
To tap the growing wanderlust among Indians, the Thai hospitality industry has joined hands with Indian firms with packages to suit their pocket and palette that even have options of regional Indian vegetarian cuisine. "We are forming new partnerships with Indian companies so that this trend of growth in the tourism sector continues," says Bangornrat Chinaprayoon, director of Tourism Authority of Thailand.

Be your own guard
"To fight back, all we need is some common sense," says BS Handa, a martial arts expert and initiator of Fight Back, a workshop aimed at training women from Chandigarh. Four decades into the field, Handa has had training in judo, karate (three styles), taekwondo, kung fu tao and aikido. A black belt 5th Dan, WTF (Korea) and president of Chandigarh Taekwondo Association, Handa has been in the field for last four decades.
