Napolitano assures more access to Headley; says strategic partnership to be intensified
New Delhi, May 27
Within a month of the killing of Osama bin Laden deep inside Pakistan, India and the United States today launched a Homeland Security Dialogue with Washington committing itself to giving New Delhi more access to David Coleman Headley, who has admitted his role in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and turned a witness against Pakistan-born co-accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana.

Pakistani-American terrorist David Coleman Headley has said he is no longer proud of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack, a day after saying that he was "pleased" with it. The US said it was closely cooperating with the Indians on counter-terrorism "certainly involving Mumbai".Washington, however, declined comment on revelations about Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence's (ISI) role in the Mumbai terror attack.

Air India on life support
Oil companies slash supplies of aviation fuel
New Delhi, May 27
The pauper Maharaja just about managed to survive the day after oil PSUs today restricted the supply of jet fuel on account of dues. Faced with yet another crisis, the cash-strapped Air India cancelled flights and scrambled to prepare a contingency plan to combine flights from tomorrow. The three state-owned oil firms slashed the supply of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) to the national carrier by 20 per cent at all airports.

Free plots to 3.5 lakh Haryana families
Chandigarh, May 27
Haryana has already given 100 sq.yard plots to 3.55 lakh families free of cost under the Mahatma Gandhi Gramin Basti Yojna in 4,925 villages where suitable shamlat land was available. Speaking at a meeting of the Committee of Secretaries on rural development here today, Chief Secretary Urvashi Gulati said the next step would be to ensure the construction of houses on these plots.

Los Angeles, May 27
The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has launched a campaign emphasising the benefits of being a US citizen with the goal of convincing more than 7 million Green Card holders to become naturalised. “It's very important for people who are already permanent residents to consider citizenship for all the benefits that will bring them,” Mariana Gitomer, the USCIS spokesperson in Los Angeles said.
