Air India pilots called off their 10-day-old agitation late Friday after the government assured them that the Dharmadhikari committee set up to harmonise wages of employees of erstwhile Indian Airlines and Air India would submit its report by November and its recommendations would thereafter be implemented in a time-bound manner.

Transcripts produced by the CBI in Court concerning the arrest of Rajpura MLA and Punjab’s Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Finance) Raj Khurana reveal that Khurana’s voice appears twice. Khurana’s voice is in the same segment in which co-accused Devinder asks for Rs 1.5 crore bribe and is also part of the conversation between the complainant and the co-accused.

Khushwant gets honorary PU degree
New Delhi, May 6
The grand old Indian writer of the century, Khushwant Singh, who happens to be in his 97th year received his fourth honorary degree, a doctorate of literature from Panjab University, Chandigarh, at a discreetly arranged programme at his residence in the capital. A laughing Khushwant said, “this is my fourth honorary degree and when I was at school I could have never imagined I would get such a collection of degrees.”
