Leon E PanettaThe CIA ruled out Pakistan as a partner in the Navy Seals’ operation to capture or kill Osama bin Laden because it feared Islamabad may alert the Al-Qaida leader, according to CIA Director Leon E Panetta. In an interview with Time magazine, Panetta said: “It was decided that any effort to work with the Pakistanis could jeopardise the mission. They might alert the targets.” Panetta briefed US lawmakers on the raid on Tuesday.

US lawmakers stepped up demands to freeze American aid to Pakistan with one of them even announcing a plan to introduce a legislation but the Obama Administration said it will continue to provide financial assistance.

Dorje KhanduA team of villagers on foot finally spotted the wreckage of the Pawan Hans helicopter which had Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu on board along with four others, including two pilots, was spotted by villagers at a place called Luguthang near Jang Falls in Tawang at around 10 am about 96 hours after the chopper lost contact with the ground after it had taken off from Tawang on April 30 morning.
