At G-20 meet, BRICS to put up a united face
Presenting a picture of unity, BRICS nations today rejected the growing demand of the developed nations to provide them easy access to their markets and resolved to work out common positions on key economic issues ahead of the G-20 summit in France later this year. Trade ministers of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, after their meeting here, warned that global trade talks were at the risk of collapsing but said they were willing to resume negotiations based on 2008 agreements.

A cool April after 28 years
New Delhi, April 13
Call it sheer coincidence if not providence, but the April of 1983 - the year India lifted the Cricket World Cup for the first time - was weather-wise as comfortable as 2011, which is witnessing what is being termed a season of delayed summer. Maximum temperature is hovering way below the average of 36.4°C, very comfortable for people and also the rabi crops till now.

And all thanks to Hazare’s vocal support for Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) leader Medha Patkar who had come out in support of Anna Hazare was the latest to raise her voice against Anna for espousing Modi’s cause.
