New Delhi, April 1
With excitement reaching a crescendo over tomorrow’s India-Sri Lanka cricket World Cup final in Mumbai, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today sent his good wishes to the ‘Men in Blue’.

Manmohan Singh was talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function at the Rashtrapati Bhavan at which President Pratibha Devisingh Patil gave away Padma awards. Congress president Sonia Gandhi joined Manmohan Singh in wishing the ‘best’ to Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his boys.

Asked by reporters after about his message to the Indian team, the PM said: “Keep it up is all I would say…I hope India wins.’’ He said the whole nation joined him in wishing the Indian team. He, however, stated that he would not be travelling to Mumbai to witness the tie since he would be busy campaigning for the Assembly elections in Assam.

Manmohan Singh had watched the India-Pakistan semi-final at Mohali on Wednesday in the company of his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani in which India defeated Pakistan by 29 runs. Asked about his informal talks with Gilani, the PM said: “We have already said what we had to say.”
