Sushma to tell all in SC New Delhi, January 27 Reacting to the government claim in the apex court that it was not aware of Thomas’ past involvement in the palm oil scam, Sushma said: “The government's argument is totally false. I personally brought this fact to the notice of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister in the meeting. My precise objection was in regard to the palm oil case. However, they persisted with his appointment. I have finally decided to file an affidavit over this issue.” “In my affidavit, I will provide a blow by blow account and the sequences of the conversations that took place in the meeting. So far, I have stayed away from the judicial process, but now enough is enough,” she added. The BJP leader said: "I had asked the Home Minister to verify the facts, but they were adamant to clear his (Thomas) name at the same meeting. I recorded my dissent in writing.” “The fact that the government is now trying to wash its hands off the CVC’s appointment clearly shows that they are in a dilemma and they don't even know what to say before the Supreme Court,” added Swaraj. The BJP leader had disclosed her dissent to the media immediately after raising it in that meeting. But today when the BJP was asked why Swaraj waited all this while to file an affidavit in the court, party spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “She had to vindicate her stand and to put things in the right perspective to demonstrate her complete dissociation from this decision.”
