PM to reshuffle Cabinet today
New Delhi, January 18
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is all set to reshuffle his Council of ministers tomorrow at 5 pm. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president had a two-hour meeting today to give final shape to the new Cabinet. This meeting comes a day after the Prime Minister called on President Pratibha Patil to apprise her about the proposed changes in his ministerial team though it was officially described as a routine meeting.

Mapping website goes live, shows two disputed areas as its own

China today officially launched its state-run mapping website that rivals Google Earth, showing Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin in Jammu and Kashmir - two key areas of dispute with India - as part of its territory.The map called ‘Map World’ displayed on the Internet in Chinese language is already being used in I phone and other mobile and Internet user applications in China.

HC pulls up CBI over FIR delay
Tells agency to decide on issue in 2 weeks
Mumbai, January 18
The Bombay High Court today pulled up the CBI for the “delay” in filing an FIR in the Adarsh housing scam and ordered it to take a final decision within two weeks even as the Maharashtra Government opposed a probe by the Central agency.

40,000 litre lubricants gutted in Mumbai fire

A major fire broke out around 1.30 am on Tuesday at the Indian Oil Corporation’s plant at Taloja in Navi Mumbai. It destroyed more than 40,000 litres of lubricants before it was put out. There were no casualties. Timely action by IOC staff and fire brigade officials helped restrict the blaze to a 3,000 sqm shed in the  1 lakh sq m plant area.Preliminary indications are that the blaze was caused by a short circuit.
