Jairam wants Adarsh to be pulled down in 3 months 
New Delhi/Mumbai, January 16

Politics hots up over hike in petrol price
New Delhi, January 16
As political opposition to the steep hike in petrol mounts and the public at large not amused with the idea given that household budgets are already stretched with onions and milk, the government faces a very difficult choice in coming months with international crude oil prices set to cross $100 a barrel. The problem is acute since India imports almost 80 per cent of crude oil for domestic demand of petroleum products.

Wife-beating charges: India recalls diplomat
‘Victim’ in hiding; UK considers request for humanitarian asylum

A senior diplomat at the Indian High Commission in London Anil Verma, accused of assaulting his wife, is being called back to India after the External Affairs Ministry took serious note of the charges against him. “He is being called back to the headquarters,”official sources said.

Swiss whistleblower to spill secrets of the rich

Pak wants full resumption of dialogue
Islamabad, January 16
Pakistan has insisted on the full-fledged resumption of the composite dialogue in proposals submitted to India through diplomatic channels ahead of the upcoming meeting of the Foreign Secretaries of the two countries. 

Samjhauta blast: Delhi to share info with Pak
New Delhi, January 16
The government on day said it will share information with Pakistan on the investigation into the Samjhauta train blast once the probe is completed. Home Secretary Gopal K Pillai said New Delhi understands the concerns of Islamabad as several Pakistani citizens were killed in Samjhauta blast but investigation has not been completed yet.
