India, Russia sign 29 pacts

India and Russia today demonstrated to the world why their relationship was so special. While they could not formally ink the agreement for setting up additional nuclear power units at Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu, the two countries signed a record 29 deals, including one on joint designing and development of the fifth generation fighter aircraft (FGFA) and another for jointly undertaking projects in the oil and gas sector in India, Russia or a third country.

PM steps in to chop onion prices
But retail prices will take time to dip

Even as the realpolitik on the humble onion began today, wholesale prices of the bulb began receding. Though the cascading effect on the retail price is yet to be seen, the ban on onion exports, low consumer demand and imports trickling in from Pakistan for the second day in a row, is expected to bring some relief to the common man soon.

Pulling up the Maharashatara government, the Bombay High Court today observed that the controversial Adarsh society smacked of "a clear-cut case of manipulation" by its officers in which everybody who was supposed to clear the file was "gifted" a flat.
