Twin explosions target Christmas shoppers
Stockholm, December 12
A car explosion and what appeared to be a suicide attack injured two people, killed the apparent bomber, and caused panic among Christmas shoppers in Stockholm. Stockholm police spokeswoman Petra Sjolander said a car exploded near Drottninggatan, a busy shopping street in the centre of the city. Shortly afterwards, a second explosion was heard higher up on the same street, and a man was found injured on the ground. He was later pronounced dead.

Prominent architects and town planners from Punjab and Chandigarh have joined hands against the Camelot project by Tata Housing Development Company (THDC). Demanding that the Tatas abandon the project, the architects today decided to write to group chairman Ratan Tata over the issue.

Delhi teen protests against lewd remarks, gangraped
4 men abduct 18-yr-old, rape her in moving car
New Delhi, December 12
In the fourth such incident here in five weeks, an 18-year-old girl was abducted and raped by four persons in a moving car in Sultanpuri area yesterday night after she protested against lewd remarks being passed at her. The accused, including a minor, have been arrested.

Shoe hurled at Hooda, again
Hisar, December 12
A man hurled a shoe at the dais just as Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda began addressing a rally of Backward Classes here today. The shoe landed on the platform erected for the music party in front of the dais. Stunned policemen immediately took the man away.
