Congress condemns violence in Kashmir on Eid, curfew imposed
Congress Spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi condemned fresh violence in Kashmir on the festive occasion of Eid on Saturday. He further added that Kashmir is a very sensitive issue and a solution for it could not be done in a hurry. Meanwhile, authorities imposed an indefinite curfew in Srinagar and other Jammu and Kashmir towns on Sunday, a day after the city saw widespread violent protests following Eid prayers.

Five Maoists held in Chhattisgarh
Police arrested five Maoists in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh, officials said on Saturday. Following a tip off, the police conducted a search operation in Bhanpuri area on Friday. The arrested Maoists are suspected of involvement in the mysterious hijacking of trucks carrying a whopping 16 tonnes of Ammonium Nitrate explosive in May.

Yamuna level recedes, but still above danger mark
The water level in the Yamuna started receding on Sunday, a day after nearly 2,000 people were evacuated in Delhi as the river was flowing dangerously above the danger mark, officials said. Although the level receded, it is still above the danger mark, inundating several low-lying areas along the river in the national capital.
