Cabinet nod to caste count in census

Bowing to demands by several political parties, the Union Cabinet today gave its approval for a caste-based census to be implemented through a separate house-to-house enumeration from June to September next year. It would be a process separate from Census 2011.

City leaders in Dublin, Georgia, US, could soon fine people if their sagging pants or skirts expose their underpants. Dublin Mayor Phil Best told WMAZ-TV that he plans to sign an ordinance on Tuesday that would fine violators $25 for a first offence and $200 for an additional offence.
