Gyaneshwari Train Sabotage Tribune News Service Kolkata, August 27 Mahato was the leader of tribal body People’s Committee against Police Atrocities (PCPA), which has been blamed for the Jhargam accident that left 148 persons dead in May this year. “Umakant Mahato was killed sometime early morning today (Friday) following an encounter in a forest area of Jhargram,” Director General of Police (DGP) Bhupinder Singh said.
