Opposition parties release report on mishandling in CWG
Opposition parties led by BJP along with JD (U) and Shiv Sena released a report titled 'Mishandling, Mismanagement and Corruption in Commonwealth Games' on Friday in New Delhi. They slammed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the alleged large sale corruption in the preparation of CWG that has come in light recently. Gadkari also took a dig on sacking of senior officials of games organizing committee T. S. Darbari and Sanjay Mohindroo who are said to be close aides of Suresh Kalmadi.

Security beefed up across India ahead of I-Day
Ahead of India's 64th Independence Day on August 15, security arrangements have been tightened in several parts of the country. The authorities have put in place tight security arrangements in Srinagar, where separatists have called for a boycott of the celebrations amid a two month long agitation. A ground-to-air security setup has also been put up in national capital New Delhi.

Curfew continues in Kashmir after fresh clashes
Curfew remained in place in Srinagar on Saturday as violence rocked Kashmir yesterday killing four people at three different places. Curfew defying mobs clashed with security forces which opened firing. With this incident, the death toll has risen to 55 after unrest broke out in the valley on June 11. Fresh violence have also been reported today with one person injured in firing in Baramulla district.
