BJP lashes out at congress for CWG corruptions
BJP senior leader Vijay Goel on Wednesday lashed out at congress over the rampant corruption prevalent in the preparations for the upcoming Commonwealth Games. He held the central and Delhi governments responsible for the mismanagement of funds and allied outlays concerning the Games. He blamed Delhi chief Sheila Dikshit for ruining the face of the capital in the name of Games.
Media reports have questioned the quality of the infrastructure
and poor preparation of the venues for the Games.

Pak floods may enter Sindh, people evacuate
Evacuation continued in Pakistan's southern Sindh province where floods are expected to reach in coming few days. The flood catastrophe, which started almost a week ago, has killed more than 1,400 people and affected more than three million in the country. A rapid assessment carried out by the UN World Food Programme in four districts -- Nowshera, Charsadda, Mardan and Peshawar -- puts the figure of people who have lost their homes or are temporarily displaced at nearly 980,000.

Geelani's appeal in vain, fresh clashes with security forces
Despite appeals of Hurriyat's hardline faction leader Syed Ali Shah Gilani to protest peacefully, stone-pelting mobs today clashed with security forces in Kashmir Valley, leading to the death of one person in police firing and injuries to four others in the violence. Meanwhile, Normal life was completely crippled as curfew entered seventh day today in all the ten districts and locals were facing acute shortage of essential commodities.
