In a series of flip-flops, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said he will not go to India for talks only for “a leisure trip” and backtracked on his earlier claim that his counterpart SM Krishna received repeated calls from New Delhi taking instructions during their July 15 parleys.

Moily: Every court to be put on fast track
New Delhi, July 18
Union Minister of Law and Justice Veerappa Moily addresses a press conference in New Delhi on Sunday.
Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily today said all the courts in the country would be brought on “fast track” to dispose of cases within three years under a “revolutionary” legal reforms process involving an expenditure of Rs 15,000 crore in five years.

Calcutta HC judge misused funds for credit card bills, RS panel told
New Delhi, July 18
Calcutta High Court Judge Soumitra Sen, who is facing removal through impeachment in Parliament, misused court funds even for his credit card payments when he was a court receiver in a case prior to his appointment as a Judge of the HC in December 2003, the Rajya Sabha inquiry committee headed by Supreme Court Judge B Sudershan Reddy was informed on Sunday.

Frustrated at the disruption of normal life, private schools in the Valley have started mailing e-lessons to their students. But neither teachers nor students find that a satisfactory solution. Naseema, a schoolteacher, grumbles, “This is not education but merely a way to keep students busy.” Students, she says vehemently, need to go out, socialise and learn from each other.
