The all-party meeting, called by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to find a way out of the prevailing tension, here today decided to send a delegation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking his attention towards various problems faced by the state. UP minister hurt in blast, critical

Uttar Pradesh Minister Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi' was seriously injured in an explosion outside his residence in Mutthiganj, under Kotwali police station of Allahabad, this afternoon, the police said. According to ADG (Law and Order) Brij Lal, four more persons were injured in the explosion. The condition of the Minister’s gunner constable Sanjay was serious.

PSLV blast-off successful, Cartosat-2B in orbit
Sriharikota, July 12
The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C15 carrying remote sensing Cartosat-2B along with four satellites successfully blasted off from the spaceport here today. The 44.4 metre long PSLV-C-15 lifted off at 9.22 am, at the end of a 51-hour countdown, placing the 694 kg Cartosat-2B and four auxiliary payloads in a 630 km polar Sun Synchronous Orbit (SSO), as the elated scientists at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre here celebrated and congratulated each other.

Family feud claims lives of Addl AG, wife
Hisar, July 12
Additional Advocate-General, Haryana, Sanjiv Sura (36) and his wife Sunita (32) were shot dead at their residence in DC Colony here shortly after midnight last night. According to the police, the deceased was living on the first floor of his house while his younger brother Ankur occupied the ground floor.

Naxals attack NMDC complex, gunbattle on

Around 50 armed Naxals tonight attacked a complex of state-owned National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), which is said to house large quantities of explosives, triggering a gunbattle with CISF personnel guarding the key economic installation.
