Commonwealth special train to flag off this week: Mamata
Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee, while flagging off a local train in Kolkata on Sunday, said that a special train on the occasion of the Commonwealth Games would be flagged off from national capital New Delhi this week. India is expecting two million tourists in New Delhi for the Games, as well as about 10,000 athletes from 71 teams representing 54 Commonwealth member states.

RJD, BJP slam Nitish Kumar for returning Modi's flood aid
Taking advantage of their apparent rupture in ties, regional leaders from a spectrum of parties slammed Bihar chief Nitish Kumar for, the monetary compensation extended by Gujarat chief Narendra Modi for the rehabilitation of the flood victims. In his usual and inimitable satirical manner, RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Sunday questioned Nitish Kumar's decision of returning the monetary aid to Modi, months before the state goes for polls. He also hinted that the 'spat' between the two leaders was nothing but a sham.

Bollywood newcomer Jacqueline Fernandez walked the ramp showcasing the collection of fashion designer Abhishek Dutta in Siliguri on Saturday. The designer revealed his spring-summer and pre-fall collection, which included a lot of basic pastel shades and free-flowing garbs. The 45-minute-long extravaganza had well-known models walking the ramp. The show spread over three sequences presenting three different genres of spring-summer, pre-fall and fall-winter collections that took the crowd by storm.

Bhopal GoM for more
compensation, Anderson's extradition
The Group of Ministers (GoM) on Bhopal gas disaster on Monday is understood to have decided to recommend enhanced compensation to the families of those dead in the gas leak and to those debilitated permanently or
partially. Sources said the compensation would be to the tune of Rs.10 lakh for the kin of those
dead. Those with permanent disability would be compensated to the tune of Rs five lakh and those with partial disability Rs 3
lakh. The GoM, which concluded its three-day deliberations, is believed to have decided to make fresh efforts for the extradition of former Union Carbide chief Warren Anderson.

Delhi Metro begins new link to Gurgaon
The long wait of an effective public transport system connecting the national capital and its satellite
town, Gurgaon ended on Monday with the opening of an extended link of Delhi Metro rail service to
Gurgaon. The first metro trains on the 14.47 kilometers link connecting Qutub Minar with HUDA City Centre in Gurgaon began simultaneously at 8 am from both sides. Passengers were in a jubilant mood while experiencing the first ride to Gurgaon in the
metro. Passengers in Delhi too found the new metro service a relief from the traffic jams and congestions on road.
