Anderson’s exit
Bhopal/New Delhi, June 15 A separate complaint was filed against the then Bhopal Collector Moti Singh and SP Swaraj Puri on the charge of facilitating the safe exit of Anderson. In the first private complaint in Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) RG Singh’s court, advocate Furkhan Khan, demanded registration of a criminal case against Arjun Singh for allegedly allowing Anderson to leave Bhopal in a wrong manner. The court has listed the matter for argument on June 29. Another private complaint was filed by Gas Peedit Mahila Udyog Sangthan’s Convenor Abdul Jabbar against Moti Singh and Swaraj Puri for allegedly facilitating the safe exit of Anderson from Bhopal and demanded registration of criminal case against them. The court will take up
this complaint for argument on June 24.
GoM meets on Friday
The reconstituted Group of Ministers on the Bhopal gas tragedy will meet on Friday, Home Minister P Chidambaram today said, a day after PM Manmohan Singh asked the panel to submit its report to the Cabinet in 10 days. “The GoM will meet on the afternoon of June 18," Chidambaram told reporters in Delhi after his briefing on a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs.
Action against ex-DGP
The Madhya Pradesh government today removed former Director General of Police (DGP) Swaraj Puri, who had played a key role in the release of the former Union Carbide chief Warren Anderson, from the state-run Narmada Valley Development Authority (NVDA).
