BJP seeks withdrawal of Nuclear Liability Bill
Reacting to the Bhopal verdict, Bharatiya Janata Party demanded that the government must withdraw the stalled Nuclear Liability Bill tabled in the parliament. Hussain further accused the government of using the CBI for its own interests. However, defending itself, congress assured that that Anderson should be brought to book like all the other accused.

Amendment in law to prevent Bhopal like tragedy: Solicitor Gen
Gopal Subramaniam, Solicitor General of India on Wednesday opined that the government must institute strict legislations to prevent repetition of tragedies like the Bhopal disaster. Subramaniam’s comments came in the wake of the verdict of magistrate court to release all the seven convicted executives, accused in the Bhopal tragedy that claimed thousands of lives.

Direct tax, a major source of revenue: Pranab
Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday said that direct taxes in India are increasingly becoming a major source of revenue for the Indian government. The collection registered a three-fold increase between the financial year 2005-6 and 2009-2010. Mukherjee also announced that the draft of 'Direct taxes code 2009' is being revised and will be put in public domain soon before it is introduced in the Parliament.
