Krishna to take up pipeline issue during his visit to Iran
Foreign Minister SM Krishna on Thursday said that he would take up the $7 billion Iran-Pakistan-India pipeline project in the course of his visit to Iran during the G15 summit of developing countries. Krishna will be leaving for Tehran on May 15 and will hold wide-ranging discussions with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki during his three-day visit. Krishna also said that he hopes that there will be sincerity from all the partners to remove the road blocks in this agreement.

Tendulkar backs battered Team India
Despite being disappointed with the early ouster of the Indian cricket team from the ongoing World Twenty20 in West Indies, Sachin Tendulkar still backed Indian team on Thursday. The master blaster said that cricket is a game of uncertainties but the people should not lose faith in the Indian cricket players. Tendulkar, however, said that he believes tournaments like these have their advantages and also disadvantages as such one cannot entirely blame IPL for the defeat.

Petrol pumps in Delhi on strike,locals face tough
time
Friday turned a tough day for commuters in Delhi,as over 400 petrol pumps in the city went on a strike declared by the Delhi NCR Petrol Dealers Association (DNPDA) to protest against the hike in VAT rates on diesel.The pumps were shut from 6 am,even as diesel prices in the neighboring states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh were slashed. Locals had to bear the brunt as they found it hard to commute due to unavailability of fuel.
