Six militants, two soldiers killed during Kashmir encounter
At least six militants and two soldiers of Indian Army were killed in a fierce encounter that took place in Baramulla region of Kashmir on Friday. According to the reports, acting on a tip off, Indian security forces cordoned the Rafiabad village, in Baramulla district to track down the suspected militants.

Commoner volunteers to be hangman to execute Kasab
Rajiv Tandon, a functionary of Hindu Suraksha Samiti, a local Hindu forum of Ludhiana, has offered his services through an application to the Indian Prime Minister seeking the job of a hangman to execute Ajmal Amir Kasab, who was sentenced to death for Mumbai attack in 2008. Tandon accompanied by other activists of the forum submitted this application to the Additional District Collector of Ludhiana on Friday.

Manmohan Singh calls for affordable litigation

Jharkhand stalemate ends, BJP to lead state's coalition govt
Ending a fortnight-long stalemate, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday agreed to form a BJP-led government in the state. Speaking to reporters, Hemant Soren said that the JMM has decided to form the government under the BJP in order to prevent the Congress plans to impose President's Rule in the state.
