One held for Ajmer blast, sent to 12 days police custody
The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Rajasthan Police arrested one of the suspects of the 2007 blast at the shrine of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisty in Ajmer that claimed three lives. Kapil
Garg, Additional Director General of ATS disclosed this while addressing media persons at
Jaipur, the capital city of the state on Friday. He said that a person named Devendra Gupta, 36, has been arrested from Ajmer for his prime role in planting the bombs at the shrine. However, the family of the arrested, residing at Ajmer refused to believe the charges levelled by the police.

India to get direct access to Hedley: Pillai
Addressing a news conference in New Delhi on Friday home secretary G K Pillai said authorities in the United States have assured that Indian investigators will have direct access to David Coleman Headley, presently under detention for his links with militants. Meanwhile when asked to comment on Madhuri Gupta , Indian High Commission diplomat in Islamabad alleged with spying for Pakistan, Pillai refused to divulge any further details about the arrest.

DUTA demands vice chancellor’s resignation over radiation case
The Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) demanded the resignation of the Vice Chancellor after it was emerged that the laboratory of the varsity's Chemistry Department had disposed off the radioactive metal as scrap resulting in one death and critical injuries to a couple of other persons in capital’s Mayapuri industrial area. Further he noted that DUTA would request the President of India to appoint qualified experts who could look into this issue.

Madhuri Gupta sent to 14 days judicial custody
Indian diplomat Madhuri Gupta, who was arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan, was on Saturday produced before New Delhi's Tees Hazari Court and has been sent to 14-day judicial custody by a Delhi court. Gupta, a second secretary with the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, was arrested on April 23 after being called back by the Ministry of External Affairs for consultations related to the XVIth SAARC Summit.
