Security scare in Ludhiana
Tribune News Service

Ludhiana, April 25
A security scare was triggered today evening in Ludhiana after the police received a call claiming bombs had been planted at five busy spots in the city, but it turned out to be a hoax.

Made from a BSNL number, the call sent the cops in a tizzy as the caller claimed that the bombs would explode within a few minutes at railway station, bus stand, Chaura Bazaar, Clock Tower Chowk and a city mall. The police sounded a red alert and ordered frisking but nothing could be recovered. However, the police ordered closure of all markets.

A senior police official said there was nothing to panic and that the hoax caller would be nabbed soon.
