Two witnesses depose in British teenager Scarlett’s murder trial
Two more witnesses deposed before a local court in Goa on Friday in the murder trial of British teenager Scarlett Keeling. Fidelis Paul D'souza and Agnelo Lopes were the first to see Sacrlett' s body at Anjuna beach on February 18, 2008, who is suspected to be raped and killed. The court has recorded testimony of 8 witnesses so far including five policemen in the suspected murder trial of Scarlett that began on April 05.

Police get special arms-training to tackle Maoists
After Dantewada massacre in which maoists killed 76 CRPF personnel; Police in Jharkhand are undergoing a special arms-training exercise to combat the increasing rebel violence. Officers in charge of 131 police stations located in Maoist-infested areas of the state are being trained in state-of-the-art weaponry and are being imparted knowledge on intelligence inputs in the programme. The training program is being conducted at the Bariatu firing range in Ranchi city.

BJP demands committee to monitor food storage in FCI 
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Friday asked for a joint parliamentary committee to monitor food storage management in the government-owned Food Corporation of India (FCI). The BJP's demand came after a high-level delegation led by its senior leader and former chief, Rajnath Singh, along with other leaders visited two FCI warehouses in Palwal. Singh claimed that the country has lost hundreds of thousands of tonnes of wheat because of mismanagement by the Food Corporation of India.
