Bilateral progress, Headley dominate Singh-Obama meet
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met US President Barack Obama in Washington, D.C. on Sunday ahead of the Nuclear Security Summit scheduled to take place in Washington on Monday and Tuesday. Later, while briefing the media after the meeting in Washington, Nirupama Rao, India’s Foreign Secretary said that the meeting was positive and constructive, as both the leaders referred to good progress made in the bilateral relations between India and US since their last meeting in 2009.

Kin of Dharmendar, found dead in Sydney, mourn his death
Family members of Dharmendar Singh, hailing from Sangrur, who was found dead on a roadside in Sydney on Sunday morning, mourned his death at his home village Nadampur of Sangrur district in Punjab. Singh had gone to Sydney with his wife about one-and-a-half year ago. The Australian police have sent the body of 35-year-old for postmortem and are investigating the cause of his death.

Assam gears up for annual Bihu festival

In Guwahati, locals are thronging market to buy the traditional articles, particularly those associated with Bihu. Bihu for the people of Assam is not just a seasonal festival or an event. It is a statement of life, an expression of the charm and verve of everyday life, the philosophy of living Bihu is associated with Bihu Dance, in which both young and old dance to the sounds of drums and other instruments.

Air Chief P V Naik denies computer hacking in department
Indian Air chief P V Naik on Monday denied that computers containing secret documents of the department have been hacked. The computer systems of multitude of Indian embassies, military departments and corporate organisations, as well as the email account of the Dalai Lama, were believed to have been decoded by a Chinese cyber spy ring.

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik finally exchanged wedding vows at a much-hyped Nikah ceremony held in Hyderabad today. Sania was wearing the same red saree, which her mother had worn at her own Nikah 25 years ago. On the other hand, Shoaib was seen wearing a black sherwani designed by renowned designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil.
