Mirwaiz wants India to hasten process to resolve Kashmir issue
Speaking to the media persons at Srinagar on Saturday All Parties Hurriyat (Freedom) Conference leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq urged India to push forward a process to resolve the Kashmir issue. He reiterated that the time has come for both India and Pakistan to take concrete steps to resolve the Kashmir problem.

Govt okays fresh formations of Police in Harayna, Kashmir
Home Minister P Chidambaram, while addressing the Passing Out Parade of trainees at the Police Academy in Haryana on Saturday, declared that the government has given the green signal for five new formations of Police for two northern states - Harayna and Jammu and Kashmir out of which four will be in Haryana and one in Kashmir.

Narender Modi questioned for 9 hrs by SIT over riot case
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) appointed by India's apex court to probe into the communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat, finished questioning state chief Narendra Modi in two sessions on Saturday . Modi was grilled by the probe panel for over nine hours in two separate sessions that ended past Saturday midnight over his alleged complicity in not doing enough to stop the 2002 communal riots which claimed more than 1,000 lives.
