Demonstrating the solidity of their strategic relationship to the world, India and Russia today sealed multi-billion dollars deals in key areas like defence, nuclear energy, diamond, petroleum and aviation as Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin reaffirmed Moscow’s support to Delhi in its fight against terrorism. India plans ‘secure’ complex in Kabul
New Delhi, March 12
Undeterred by the recent attacks on Indians in Kabul, the Union government has decided to set up a secure residential complex for its 4,000-odd employees there. Also, a contingent of 40 ITBP commandos would be leaving for Afghanistan tomorrow to beef up the security of their fellow nationals. Besides this, India has plans to send a high-level team for reviewing the overall security scenario.

Permanent commission: HC sides with women
They’re on a par with male officers, tells Centre
New Delhi, March 12
In a path-breaking judgement, the Delhi High Court today directed the Centre to offer within two months Permanent Commission (PC) to Short Service Commissioned (SSC) women officers of the Air Force and the Army at par with male SSC officers with all consequential benefits, including promotion.

Seven blasts rock Lahore, 45 killed
Taliban terrorists on Friday struck Lahore with two near-simultaneous suicide attacks targeting the Army in cantonment area killing 45 persons, including 10 soldiers, and injuring 100 others.
