Members of the SP, the RJD and the JD-U disrupted Lok Sabha proceedings for the third day today over the Women’s Reservation Bill and the forcible eviction of their colleagues in the Rajya Sabha.

After the ugly scenes witnessed in Rajya Sabha during the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill, the UPA government appears to be in no hurry to introduce it in Lok Sabha. Since tempers are still running high as seen in Lok Sabha today when the opponents of the Bill did not allow the House to function.

Haryana imposes surcharge on VAT
Chandigarh, March 10
Goods subject to VAT in Haryana will cost. Presenting his first Budget in the assembly today, Finance Minister Ajay Singh Yadav declared that a surcharge ranging from 0.25 per cent to 0.7 per cent would be imposed on VAT.

Just five days after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh promised in Lok Sabha to address the issue of pensions for ex-servicemen, the Ministry of Defence today circulated instructions to implement two pending matters.

PCB bans Yousuf, Younis for life
In a stunning move, the Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday slapped life ban on two leading batsmen and former captains of the Pakistan cricket team, Muhammad Yousuf and Younis Khan, and announced varying punishment for five other top players for indiscipline and misdemeanour during recent foreign trips.
