2 KLF terrorists held
Nabha, February 21
In a major breakthrough, the Special Investigating Team (SIT) of the Patiala police, in coordination with the Intelligence Wing of Punjab, claimed to have arrested two terrorists of the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) from Nabha.

MLA dodges police to hold meeting
Batala, February 21
Tension prevailed in this industrial township for the second consecutive day today, with the district administration, not willing to take any undue risks, relaxing the curfew for just one hour. Though the administration claimed that it implemented the curfew strictly, nearly 200 activists drawn from various Hindu bodies, including the VHP, the Bajrang Dal and the Shiva Sena, gathered under the banner of ‘Sangharsh Samiti’ and held a meeting at Quila Mandi.

China to restart Tibet-Nepal bus
New Delhi, February 21
In a strong message to India and the world, China is all set to resume suspended bus services between Lhasa, capital of erstwhile Tibet, and Kathmandu in Nepal. The service was started on May 1, 2005, but suspended in 2006 after a political fallout over issuance of visas to Tibet.

Two Sikhs, who were kidnapped over a month ago, have been beheaded by the Pakistani Taliban in the country’s restive tribal belt in a brutal act by the militants. Some more members of the minority community are still in the custody of the rebels.

Solar rickshaws to ferry CWG athletes
New Delhi, February 21
At least 1,000 solar rickshaws will be deployed to ferry over 7,000 athletes and their delegates during the Commonwealth Games later this year. A joint project between the Delhi government and the Central government-run Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), these zero carbon vehicles will help players commute inside the Games village and reach sporting venues from metro stations.
