Intelligence hints at terror threat during

Laskhar-e-Toiba is at it again: the terror outfit is said to have procured around 50 paragliders from Europe apparently to enable its ‘fidayeen’ (suicide cadres) to fly into India and attack vital installations, intelligence agencies have warned.

Sukhbir-Kalia report gets Cabinet nod
But increase in retirement age fails to get through
Chandigarh, January 22
The Punjab Cabinet today accorded a formal approval to the Sukhbir Badal-Manoranjan Kalia Committee report, accepting most of the suggestions made by the committee on resource mobilisation. However, the Cabinet did not agree on enhancing the retirement age of government employees from 58 to 60. But an option to serve for one additional year was offered to all serving employees who were to retire by year-end. But it is only a one-time offer.

Washington’s plan to supply drone aircraft to Pakistan has upset India though it has not come as a big surprise to New Delhi. India is of the firm view that the US administration must stop supplying military hardware to Pakistan since it has always in the past been used against India.

Pakistan, which is experiencing “Mumbai-like attacks almost every other day”, cannot guarantee there will not be a repeat of the 26/11 strikes in India, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has told the US.
