New Delhi, January 11

India extended $1-billion line of credit (LoC) to Bangladesh as the two countries today took bilateral ties to a new plane, signing five accords to combat terrorism and consolidate trade, economic and cultural links.

Ultimatum to hockey players

Hockey India today toughened its stand on the striking national players when it gave them an ultimatum to either resume the national camp at Pune or face severe consequences.

Her eyes witnessed her bhog ceremony

This was a rare moment for those who were present yesterday at the bhog ceremony of 105-year-old Durgi Devi, who had died on January 1, when two women, Dhan Kaur (48), a resident of Ludhiana, and Manjit Kaur Gardiwala (47), a resident of Kalra village in Hoshiarpur district, witnessed the bhog ceremony with the eyes of Durgi Devi, as the cornea of her eyes had been transplanted in their eyes.
