New Delhi, January 4
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today sought permission of a local court to conduct narco analysis tests on Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, parents of 14-year-old Aarushi Talwar who was found murdered in her Noida house on May 16, 2008.
Submitting an application before Judicial Magistrate (CBI) Priti Singh, CBI counsel Suresh Batra made a request for allowing narco tests on the Talwars. “The newly constituted team of CBI has found some fresh clues, therefore, their (Rajesh and Nupur Talwar's) narco tests are a must,” said Batra in the court.
But the CBI request was contested by Satish Tamta, the counsel for Talwars: “The final report has been submitted in the case and the parents have been found innocent. The parents are ill. The CBI is under the media pressure to solve the case and they are trying to implicate the Talwars.”
The local court heard the arguments of both the sides and reserved its order.
Notably, Aarushi Talwar was found with her throat slit and several stab wounds on her face on May 16, 2008, in her parents' house at Jalvayu Vihar in Noida, a suburb in Delhi. Her dentist father Rajesh Talwar was arrested and charged with the murder of Aarushi and their domestic servant Hemraj, who too was found killed a day later (on May 17).
Later, the court found Rajesh Talwar innocent and a fresh probe was ordered into the double murder case.
