Govt mulls new charges against Rathore
New Delhi, December 29
The government today said it was contemplating whether to appeal for enhancing punishment for former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore in the Ruchika molestation case or to charge him and others afresh with abetment of suicide.

While asserting that New Delhi would firmly stick to its policy of unilateral and voluntary moratorium on nuclear testing, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today made it clear to Japan that India would consider its option on the CTBT only after the US and China ratified the treaty.

Fire breaks out at BARC; 2 killed
Mumbai, December 29
A fire broke out today in a chemistry lab at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) located just a kilometre away from the nuclear reactors leaving two persons dead but scientists said there was no danger of any radioactivity.

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati are among the four Indians named in the Financial Times list of “50 People Who Shaped the Decade”.
