HK Dua takes oath as RS member

New Delhi, November 20
Editor-in-Chief of The Tribune group of newspapers HK Dua today took oath as a Member of Parliament having been nominated to the Rajya Sabha by President Pratibha Devisingh Patil.

After he took oath, Dua was welcomed to the House by Chairman Hamid Ansari and as he proceeded to complete the other formalities pandemonium broke out in the House with Opposition parties demanding a better deal for the sugarcane farmers in the country. Dua took the oath of affirmation of faith and allegiance to the Constitution. He will serve a six-year term in office. Earlier, Dua was received by Ansari in his chamber before taking the oath. Dua’s wife, Adity Dua, and his son, Prashant Dua, watched the oath-taking ceremony from the visitors’ gallery.
