In a major development, Indian investigators have traced that David Headley and his accomplice Tahhawur Hussain Rana were in Pakistan when the Lakshar-e-Toiba terrorists were carrying out the deadly Mumbai-attacks on November 26 last year. Probably, they were monitoring the attacks and stayed on in Pakistan till the first week of December 2008.

Decision on Rodrigues soon

Punjab Governor SF Rodrigues (retd) will continue to hold charge of his post till his successor is appointed. A political decision on the new appointee is expected any time, said sources, adding that Congress bosses had done an assessment and the matter was expected to be resolved soon.

Doctors, staff accused of negligence; probe ordered

In an appalling case of medical negligence, seven infants died at a government hospital in the coastal Andhra city of Vijayawada due to faulty incubators and ventilators.

Parties one in flaying Thackeray
New Delhi, November 16
The country’s main political parties, Congress, BJP and the Left, sank their differences today and came out in support of cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar, who was criticised by Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray over his “Mumbai is for all” comment. The members of the sporting fraternity, too, rallied behind Sachin, unequivocally lambasting the Sena chief for his observations in party’s mouthpiece ‘Samana’.
