Identifies rebel hubs to launch much-awaited offensive
Madurai/New Delhi, November 1
Two days after extending an olive branch to Maoists, Home Minister P Chidambaram has said that he will not allow an armed revolution to succeed in India till his last breath. The government is also ready to launch the much-awaited full-fledged anti-Naxal operations in three different areas, considered tri-junctions of Maoist violence.

Justice Dinakaran not to be elevated: CJI
New Delhi, November 1
Chief Justice of India KG Balakrishnan today confirmed that Karnataka High Court Chief Justice PD Dinakaran, who is in the eye of a storm over allegations of corruption, is not being considered for elevation to the Supreme Court along with four others, including Chief Justice TS Thakur of Punjab and Haryana High Court.

BJP backs Yeddyurappa
Rebels too given a hearing
New Delhi, November 1
In no mood to yield political ground to the opponents in Karnataka, BJP central leadership today assured supporters of Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa of his continuation in office. Senior party leaders tried to resolve the crisis by meeting the CM’s supporters and the rebel faction representatives separately in the Capital throughout the day.
