New Delhi, September 10
The BJP has broken its week-long negotiations with the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal and decided to contest all 90 seats in the forthcoming state Assembly polls.

Announcing the decision, BJP general secretary in charge of Haryana Vijay Goel said here today, “There is a groundswell support for the BJP. We have also respected the sentiment of our party workers who wanted us to go it alone.” He, however, conceded that the party had been negotiaiting with HJC leader Kuldeep Bishnoi.

Accompanied by Haryana unit president of the party Kishan Pal Gurjar, Goel also stated categorically, “There is no possibility of returning to Om Prakash Chautala.”

Goel claimed that the people of Haryana were beset with problems of drought, water and electricity shortage, law and order and widespread corruption. “In such a situation when many parties contest, the chances of all brighten simultaneously,” Goel hoped and added with confidence that “no government will be formed without us.”

He insisted that the two parties could not come to an agreement on identification of seats to be contested by the respective parties.
